Advanced Aluminium Engineering for the Automotive Industry

We are delighted to announce that ALFED will be holding an aluminium conference later this year, focusing on the automotive industry.

You may recall that we have held successful automotive conferences in the past, the most recent being in 2014. Since then technical developments in the use of aluminium in cars have moved on apace, with the amount of aluminium used in the average car rising strongly. The industry now stands at a crossroads with issues such as fuel efficiency, alternative power sources and automation dominating the agenda and aluminium has a key part to play in all of these.

Advanced Aluminium Engineering for the Automotive Industry is a brand new conference, developed to reflect the intense interest in technical questions in this area. Its content builds on the success of previous ALFED automotive conferences.

Focusing on current developments, the Conference will present market-leading and emerging technologies concerning aluminium in vehicle manufacturing. Speakers and participants from the aluminium industry, automotive component suppliers, OEMs, and mechanical engineering will discuss innovative developments and new technologies for the automotive engineering of the future.

There will be an optional Conference Dinner, with guest speaker, for Conference attendees, on the evening of 21 November, in the banqueting suite of Birmingham Council House.

Once again, ALFED members are able to book places at the Conference and Dinner at a preferential rate to non-members.

Full details of the Conference and Dinner, including booking form, are on the ALFED website.

There are also sponsorship and exhibition opportunities please contact Ian Oliver (i_oliver@alfed.org.uk) if you are interested in either.

I do hope you will be able to support what promises to be the most successful ALFED conference ever.
